Wind & Project Cargo Handled By NTC Logistics Team
NTC Logistics Team in India recently handled an exciting and challenging project which consisted of 6 wind blades, each one with a length of 45 meters by width 3.2 meters and weight of 1.5 metric tones each.
Also a stator 4.10 L * 2.75 W * 4 H (meters) and 50 tones. Accessories involved weight 50 tones.
Place of Pick up – Gumidpoondi Chennai
Place of Delivery – Chennai Port
Although the distance between both points is only about 50 kms, the movement of blades with this length could be done only at night; always being escorted and after having the green light from the multiple clearances from government authorities. All handled by NTC Wind Transport Team. The heavy monsoon rains added to the challenge as well.
Final place of delivery is Trieste Italy.
NTC’s transport, forwarding and break bulk arms transport wind blades up to 72 meters in length on special adapted trailers.
For this movement, a low bed trailer was used for the stator and a specialized extendable trailer used for the blades, coupled to human prime movers. All assets owned by NTC and operated by trained NTC staff.
